» General » Xchar – just another community? There are many communities, but in our opinion, not very persuading ones when it comes to Gamers, their avatars, clans and guilds. There are indeed many good forums and sites loaded with information about the game, but there is no gaming community which shows you the people behind the chars yet. Xchar is a network of people who have one thing in common: Fun with gaming. Xchar gives you the opportunity to create a profile about you, including your personal photos and files. That way, you can connect to your guild members or other gaming friends on a private level and meet interesting new people! » How can I report bugs on the website? Bugs are annoying but occur nevertheless. Should you stumble on one, just click the “Feedback” button in the down right corner of our site and let us know. We will see to it asap. Besides we are thinking about future rewards for players who have provided us with many hints and tipps. » How can I have an impact on Xchar? Xchar is a community from gamers for gamers. That is why we naturally are looking forward to any proposals, ideas and criticism! You can contact us here! » How can I report abuse? Case studies of other communities have shown that there are bad people in this world who delight in spamming, insulting and uploading funny pics of their buttocks… If you are the victim of such an encounter: Report here! » What is a realm leader? Realm leaders tend to the people of their WoW realm. They answer questions and try to help with word and deeds when bugs occur. Additionally they provide a friendly “hello” for all new members, so that everybody feels at home immediately. They are mainly responsible for the reputation and fame of their WoW servers. » How can I become a realm leader? Whoever bears true interest for our community can make an application with Gereon, our contact person for the realm leader program. » Signing up – How long will that take me? To sign up is quite simple. Just give us your name, email address etc., and you are good to go! » What is signing up good for? If registered you can use all the features of Xchar, the Gamer Community. You can always browse through the WoW Chars but only the registration grants access to the players behind the chars. » What about my privacy? It is our concern that your privacy is never compromised in any way at any time. That is why you have always full control over what you want other users to see of your profile. Immediately after registration you can set up your privacy options via the "Settings" button in the top right. Non-registered users have no access to your profile anyways. You can always decide for yourself whether, for example, your last name is displayed or not. » Groups » What are groups? These are interest groups, people with the same hobby or general interest gathering in one place. » How can I create a group? Please click "Create new group" under "Groups". You can describe the group there and further customize things. » How can I join a group? If you click on name or pic of the group, on the next page, you can join the group on the right side. » How can I quit a group? If you are on the overview page of your groups, on the right side, you can select "leave this group". » How can I upload a photo or video? You can do this via "add picture" and "add video" on the group profile of your groups. » Can I upload pics or videos in a group I'm not a member of? No, you first have to be a member of the group and you need the authorization of the group's admin. » Games » What can I do if I can not find my game in the list? Although our databank contains hundreds of games there is no guarantee that you can find everything in there. Just press "Add missing game" to add a game you can nt find. Make sure you spell the name correctly, so other players can find your game in the future. » Community » How can I make an appearance in the user ranking under "Most active members of the week"? Every profile comment you perform on Xchar is tracked by our system. Once a week the users with the most comments appear in this ranking. » How can an entry in my blog become the "blog entry of the day"? The blog entry that is read most frequently on a given day becomes the "blog entry of the day". » My profile » How can I delete my profile? In the navigation, in the upper right corner next to your picture, you can click "settings". Then press the “delete account” button to delete your profile. » How can I upload a new picture? Simply press "change picture" under your profile picture and use the form to upload your picture. » How can I delete a picture? If you click on a picture in your gallery under "pictures" you will find a delete button below the picture on the right. » How can I use a picture as my profile picture? First click on the picture and then on "As profile picture". » How can I edit a blog post? Just click the tiny pencil in the upper right corner of the post. » How can I delete a blog post? Just click the tiny rubber in the upper right corner of the post. » My avatars » How many avatars can I upload? As many as you want to, from all the games. You only have to click "Add new avatar" in your avatar overview and use the form there to add the avatar of your choice. » How do I upload an avatar pic? Just click on the picture link below your avatar's icon in the avatar overview to upload a new picture. » Which avatar is shown in my profile? Besides your Shakes & Fidget character your main will be shown in your profile. You can use the "Main" button in the avatar overview to select a different Main. » My friends » How can I add friends to my friends list? To do that, you just have to click on "add as friend" beneath the user's profile picture. If that user accepts your friendship invitation, he will appear in your friend list. » How can I delete friends? Press the "my friends" button in the upper right corner of the screen, the one next to your profile picture. In the friends list you can click on delete next to any friend on the right side. » Xchar Live » Xchar Faces, what's that? Xchar Faces satisfies your curiosity! Every Xchar member using this program can see ingame a small photo of a char's (registered) user right next to the tooltip, so you instantly know, whom you have the pleasure to be dealing with. » What do I need for Xchar Faces to work? In order to use Xchar Faces, you first and foremost have to be registered at Xchars. Additionally you must have uploaded the char that you play with. And you must have downloaded and installed Xchar Faces. » The packages are quite big, won't that use up my memory during the game? Xchar Faces has been programmed in a way that it does not compromise your ingame experience. A user pic is only loaded when it is needed (load on demand). In extensive tests no negative effect on the ingame performance was noted. » What exactly can I see next to the tooltip? If the player of a selected char has uploaded his char and a user pic, you can see the latter next to the tooltip. Otherwise you will see the well-known questionmark-guy. All other chars will have no pictures displayed at all. » Help, the button at the minimap is gone! All commands that you can generate via this button, you can also utilize via the command /xc. To let the button at the minimap reappear just type in "/xc standby". » How can I report bugs? Where can I leave my feedback? Even after thorough testing there can always be bugs lurking in the program code. If you detect one, you can write an email to the team (http://www.xchar.de/profile.php?id=122) or you can use the feedback button in the bottom right. » I don't see any faces next to the tooltip… In case nothing is displayed ingame, see if you still have to activate it in the character screen of WoW. Another possibility is that the target person is not yet a registered member at Xchar or that he or she has not yet installed Xchar Faces. For that reason: You all should use of Xchar Faces, so that the program can unfold its full potential. » How does Xchar Live work? Xchar Live is a small and tight application for Adobe AIR. Xchar Live creates the Xchar Faces WoW addon in your WoW folder. That addon collects data from World of Warcraft via the public addon gateway. Like any other addon it can be activated and deactivated ingame in the character overview. Additionally you will be able to access the statusbox and the shoutbox with Xchar Live. » How safe is the Xchar Faces? Xchar Faces exclusively collects data about your WoW char. It is not able to collect data like user names, passwords or any other private informations of your account. » Do Xchar Faces and Xchar Live work when i do not use windows? Ja. Xchar Live works on any platform able to run Adobe AIR. The Xchar Faces Addon works on any machine that is able to run World of Warcraft.

» Xchar Faces, what's that?: Xchar Faces satisfies your curiosity! Every Xchar member using this program can see ingame a small photo of a char's (registered) user right next to the tooltip, so you instantly know, whom you have the pleasure to be dealing with.
» What do I need for Xchar Faces to work?: In order to use Xchar Faces, you first and foremost have to be registered at Xchars. Additionally you must have uploaded the char that you play with. And you must have downloaded and installed Xchar Faces.
» The packages are quite big, won't that use up my memory during the game?: Xchar Faces has been programmed in a way that it does not compromise your ingame experience.
